Feeling Different Is Fabulous!
I’ve always felt different, but I haven’t always felt fabulous. By embracing all my quirkiness and learning to love my weird and wonderful, I’ve discovered that being different isn’t bad.
It’s what makes me, me.
I know what it’s like to feel confused, misunderstood and generally baffled by the world. My lived experiences — all the ups and downs, highs and lows, struggles and triumphs — drive my passion to help others feel confident, valued and proud.
I ACTUALLY GET IT!
Learning about something isn’t the same as experiencing it
No amount of teacher training could explain to me what it’s like to sit in a classroom and feel like the lesson’s in an alien language. No amount of explanations will ever get across the feeling of bewilderment that comes with unwritten rules.
The ability to understand things which cannot be put into words comes from shared experiences. The connection between two people who have both faced challenges and struggles is unique.
It’s more than just being understood. It’s being able to say I am discombobulated, without having to explain why. It’s being able to say absolutely nothing, safe in the knowledge that it’ll be interpreted correctly.
I’ve silently listened to conversations feeling unsure…
Is it my turn to speak? Oh I’ve missed that moment. We’re onto something else now.I've been confused why people don’t understand why I don’t understand.
I’ve sat in lessons feeling lost and confused…
This makes no sense? Where did that 7 come from?!I've felt lost, out of place, overwhelmed, exhausted.
But, despite all these challenges, I’ve also felt…
Accomplished + Unique + Inspired + Ambitious + Successful + Individual
I've made the journey from overwhelmed and misunderstood to confident, valued and proud.
My struggles are the driving force behind Infinite Ability.
I don't want others to struggle like I did.
Mentoring that doesn’t feel like mentoring
Having a connection built from shared interests and hobbies, enables one-to-one sessions to feel like a catch up, rather than formal mentoring.
Building confidence in Maths
Working one-to-one ensures each session is adapted to individual needs. Supporting both children and adults with their Maths, means there is a seemingly endless supply of techniques and resources to find just the right fit.
Find your tribe
Join our group of weird and wonderful women as we share our experiences and support one another to embrace our quirks.
“It’s loud in my head.”
“My clothes feel weird.”
"Strange looks when I answer questions.”
“Crying because we normally face the front, but today we’re not.”
It took me a long time to work out why.
My Journey To Understanding Why
My journey has been on more twists and turns than I care to count. Maybe one day I’ll share my whole story.
But for now I’ll just say this…
I’ve always known my own mind. I’ve always been determined. I’ve always had a plan.
While a lot of that plan came together, in 2020 I found myself self-employed in the middle of a global pandemic. That was not part of the plan! But four years on, I can look back and be truly proud of everything I’ve achieved.
If you’d told me, through the tears and exhaustion, that I’d reach the point where I could confidently say…
“I’m really good at my job. I have an innate ability to connect with people and recognise what they need in a particular moment.”
…I would not have believed you.
Yet here I am!
Launching Infinite Ability is up there with the proudest moments of my life
